Rules for a Tie Game in a Survivor Pool

Tie Score

If you are running or participating in an NFL Survivor Pool, there is a possibility that there will be a tie game at some point in the season. The object of a survivor pool is to correctly pick a "winning" team each week. Therefore when one of the games ends in a tie, and a participant of the pool picks either one of the teams, that participant is eliminated.

Variation to the Rule

It's important to note that the pool administrator may choose to run the pool with their own rules. If this is the case, it is quite important that all participants are aware of the rules before the season begins. The rule can easily be changed to " a game ending in a tie, allows the participant to advance to the next week".

Tie Between Players

You may also be interested in knowing what to do in case two or more players actually tie in the survivor pool, meaning the last participants are eliminated the same week or make it the entire season without missing a game. If this is the case, you have a few options:

1. Split the prizes up equally among the winning participants.

2. Continue the pool as if the winning participants were never eliminated, if it is the end of the season you can continue into the playoffs where all teams are available to be picked one time.

3. If you don't want to prolong the pool, but would prefer a single winner, you can have the participants guess the total points scored in the following Monday night's game. The closest to the point total wins.
